Messages shared across religions

This Kapow pupil video is part of the Kapow Religion and worldviews scheme of work. It explores the shared stories and messages found in Abrahamic religions – Judaism, Christianity, and Islam – through the lives of key figures such as Moses and Noah.

Children learn that many people believe Moses (called Moshe in Hebrew and Musa in Arabic) was chosen by God to deliver important teachings. Jewish and Christian people believe he received the Ten Commandments and the Torah at Mount Sinai. Many Muslims also believe Moses was a prophet who shared God’s message and foretold the coming of the final messenger, who they believe is Muhammad. Pupils also hear how the story of Noah is found in all three religions, helping them understand how worldviews can share common roots while having their own traditions and beliefs.

The video is designed to be shown to pupils as part of Religion and worldviews, key stage 2, Year 6, Why does religion look different around the world? (Part 1), Lesson 1: How do some religions believe in the same God?
