Exploring Abrahamic religions

In this Religion and worldviews video, children are introduced to the idea of the Abrahamic religions that share a special connection to a man named Abraham. The Jewish, Christian and Muslim worldviews all have stories that begin with Abraham’s belief in just one God, a belief called monotheism.

Children will learn about the covenant, or strong promise, that many people believe God made with Abraham. The story includes Abraham’s wife, Sarah, and two of his sons, Ishmael and Isaac. Through this story, pupils discover why Abraham is an important figure in these worldviews and how his story is remembered differently in each religion.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Religion and Worldviews resources and helps children build their knowledge of key religious stories and shared histories in an engaging and accessible way.
