This Design and technology scheme of work video shows Year 3 pupils how to sew a running stitch, one of the most fundamental hand-sewing techniques.

The children will see how to thread a needle, tie a knot and create even stitches by passing the needle in and out of the fabric. The video also shows clear steps for finishing off the stitch securely and reinforces safe, practical sewing habits.
