This Design and technology scheme of work video introduces Year 3 pupils to embellishing, where decorative elements such as beads, sequins and buttons can be added to fabric.

The children will see step-by-step methods for securely stitching each type of decoration, including how to use a cross stitch to attach a four-hole button. The video highlights how practising embellishing helps to build fine motor skills and precision, while giving the children creative ways to enhance their textile work.
