This Design and technology scheme of work video introduces Year 3 pupils to applique, a textile technique where smaller pieces of fabric are sewn or stuck onto a larger background to create decorative patterns.

The children will see how to mark, cut, and pin fabric shapes carefully before securing them using a running stitch. The video also demonstrates working with smaller shapes using fabric glue and finishing with neat, secure knots.
