Assembly video: Big Schools' Birdwatch

This video introduces the Big Schools’ Birdwatch and explains how taking part helps the RSPB understand which birds visit school grounds across the UK. It shares recent results, including some of the most commonly spotted birds such as Woodpigeon, Blackbird, Carrion Crow, Magpie and House Sparrow.

Learners are shown how to identify birds using simple clues, such as size, colour and features. The video encourages participation by highlighting the range of RSPB resources available to help schools spot species and support bird life.
