Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support:

  • Could play just one chord (C or F) to focus on staying in time.
  • Could work in pairs, each playing one note of the chord, to support playing both notes together.

Pupils working at greater depth:

  • Should play the full chord pattern confidently and accurately by maintaining a steady beat.
  • Should play the chords on a different instrument (for example, keyboard, ukulele or guitar).
  • Could sing independently while playing the chord pattern, without additional audio support.
