Adults can use the opportunity to: 

  • Observe and support the children as they explore.
  • Find appropriate opportunities to extend learning, introduce new ideas or model how to do something.  
  • Listen to storytelling and extend language/depth of learning when appropriate.  
  • Model the use of vocabulary to describe the weather or the changes/effects that you see.

Vocabulary

  • weather adjectives (e.g. soft, hard, wet, bright, dark, freezing, etc.)

  • weather words (e.g. sun, rain, snow, hot, dry, cold, wet, etc.)
