Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could use the Activity: Design template: support during the Main event; could be encouraged to choose a simpler shape for the base, such as a circle or square; could use 2D maths shapes to draw around for the base shape; could create a simple decorative design, such as a smiley face or pattern.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should label their design with features and verbally explain their design choices; should choose a more complex shape for the base; should suggest extra design features to make it more appealing.
