FAQ Category: RSE/PSHE
Can I still use the existing RSE & PSHE scheme in light of the 2026 updates?
The current RSE & PSHE scheme (2025/26) will be retired at the end of July 2026, as it will not align with the updated statutory guidance that comes into effect from September 2026.
The new scheme has everything you need to fulfil all statutory curriculum requirements from September.
How will the RSE curriculum change in 2026?
The changes to RSE include new topics and added reinforcement in existing areas, updated guidance surrounding language used, and increased emphasis on prevention, positivity, relationships, safety, parental engagement, transparency and pupil voice. Further information can be found here.
Do you have RSE lessons about gender identity?
No, we don’t specifically cover gender identity as a topic, although we do look at identity more generally. Gender identity does not form part of the national curriculum, and we would advise teachers to refer to their own school’s policy when considering how and whether to address this in class, or when thinking about how to adapt lessons should one of their pupils be questioning their own gender identity.
Does your RSE & PSHE scheme cover all the RSHE requirements?
Yes, our RSE & PSHE scheme covers all the requirements of the RSHE statutory guidance, as well as non-statutory content, such as citizenship and financial education. Find out more in this video.
