Understanding design criteria basics
This Design and technology scheme of work video introduces teachers to building effective design criteria with their class, equipping them with the knowledge to guide the children in setting purposeful, realistic goals for their design projects. It demonstrates how to explore a design brief, identify user needs and constraints and create clear “must” statements to define success. Teachers are supported with practical strategies to encourage group collaboration, prioritisation of tasks and opportunities for the children to personalise their criteria.
