A rap about online safety

This Computing scheme of work video empowers Year 6 pupils to take control of their online safety and supports pupils in becoming digitally responsible as they prepare for life within and beyond school.

The lyrics highlight advanced online safety topics including digital footprints, two-factor authentication, phishing, scams and cyberbullying. The children are reminded to block, report and speak to a trusted adult when something does not feel right. The importance of consent, privacy settings and strong passwords is reinforced.

The chorus encourages the children to keep safe, show respect and speak up when unsure. The song also promotes good habits such as updating software and using antivirus tools to help protect personal data.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Online safety: Year 6 unit. It helps Year 6 pupils develop digital independence, supporting safe, respectful and informed use of technology as they move into secondary school and beyond.
