Curious minds ask questions

This  Science scheme of work video introduces teachers to the skills needed to help Early Years pupils begin their journey as scientists by asking questions and exploring the world around them. It focuses on the first step in scientific inquiry, curiosity, encouraging children to wonder, predict, and investigate through practical, hands-on activities. The video models how to support children in observing natural processes and changes, using open-ended questions to build vocabulary and prompt scientific thinking.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Science Overview resources. It simplifies the process, ensuring teachers feel confident and prepared to nurture scientific curiosity from the start. With engaging pupil videos, inclusive role models, and the I’m a Scientist song, the unit builds strong foundations for working scientifically and helps every child see themselves as a scientist in the making.
