Creating charts and graphs

This Computing video supports teachers in delivering a lesson focused on visual representations of data using Google Sheets.

The video demonstrates how to create charts and graphs, beginning with selecting and inserting data from a previous activity, such as top trump cards, into a bar chart. It shows teachers how to use the chart editor, explore different visual options and discuss how selecting various settings affects the graph. The lesson highlights that visual representations are most effective when they make data easier to understand and that overly busy charts can be misleading, helping teachers guide the children in creating clear and meaningful graphs.

This video is part of our Year 3 Data handling: Comparison cards databases unit, supporting the children to develop their understanding of data handling and digital skills.
