Creating stop motion in Microsoft Photos

This Computing video supports teachers in guiding the children through creating a simple stop motion animation using Microsoft Photos.

The video introduces the key steps, beginning with starting a new video project and naming it, before importing a sequence of selected images. Teachers are shown how to place images into the storyboard and adjust the default timing of each photo to create a smooth animation effect. In the example, the photo duration is reduced to 0.3 seconds to speed up the motion, helping the children understand how image timing affects the animation. The video continues by demonstrating how to preview the sequence and export the finished video, supporting confident modelling of digital tools in the classroom.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Computing videos, supporting the children to develop their creativity and understanding of digital media.
