Dance sequence: part two

This PE scheme of work video introduces teachers to part two of the final performance sequence, helping Key stage 2 pupils build on movements learned in the previous lesson. Pupils will begin by recapping familiar steps like “the pizza” and “the step back,” before learning two new phrases: “pick the fruit” and “the aeroplane.” Teachers are guided to introduce each movement slowly, focusing on footwork first, before adding arm actions and encouraging pupils to stretch, extend and move expressively to the beat.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Dance resources. It simplifies the process with clear demonstrations and teaching tips, such as modelling with hands on hips and using maracas to support rhythmic timing. Teachers will feel confident guiding pupils through structured repetition and musical timing, supporting them as they prepare for the final performance with strong coordination and growing confidence.
