Adding effects in stop motion projects

This Computing video supports teachers in showing the children how to add special effects to individual frames within a stop motion animation using Microsoft Photos.

The video explains how to select a photo on the storyboard timeline, choose from a range of 3D effects and adjust their position and duration to enhance the animation. It demonstrates how to apply and modify effects to change the visual impact of the project and shows teachers how to model the process confidently. The video also highlights how small adjustments can alter the final animation, supporting teachers in guiding the children through iteration and experimentation with digital media.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Computing videos, supporting the children to develop their creativity and understanding of digital media. It provides teachers with step-by-step guidance to model and support the children in using editing tools, applying effects and experimenting with changes to enhance digital creativity and media outcomes.
