This Design and technology scheme of work video shows the children shows the children the first steps in writing a program for a virtual micro:bit to make the LED panel flash on and off. It introduces the layout of the coding environment and draws attention to the ‘input’ and ‘loops’ tabs they will need. The children are guided through the initial blocks of code and can follow along with the video to begin building their program with confidence.

The video illustrates each coding step clearly so the children feel confident and well prepared to create their program in the lesson and unit below.
