A rap about online safety

This Computing scheme of work video helps Year 5 pupils explore online safety through an empowering song. This video encourages pupils to be responsible, resilient and respectful when navigating the digital world.

The song covers essential online safety themes such as protecting passwords, checking app permissions, and staying safe in chats and online spaces. It also tackles more complex topics, including misinformation, digital well-being, and cyberbullying—reminding pupils that support from trusted adults is always available.

Pupils are encouraged to use good judgement when reading information online, avoid sharing personal details, and reflect on the impact of their digital actions. With a focus on kindness, balance and common sense, the video helps pupils think about how they can be safe, be smart and make positive choices online.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Online safety: Year 5 unit. It supports Year 5 pupils in developing digital maturity, promoting confidence, critical thinking and well-being as part of their online life.
