A rap about online safety

This Computing scheme of work video helps Year 2 pupils learn the basics of online safety through a fun and energetic rap. With a strong beat and easy-to-remember lyrics, this video encourages children to stay safe, think clearly and act responsibly when going online.

The rap covers key safety messages including creating strong passwords, protecting personal information, asking for permission before sharing, and speaking to a trusted adult if something doesn’t feel right. Pupils also learn how to recognise unhelpful pop-ups and unreliable websites, and how to use common sense when exploring online spaces.

The video makes important digital safety skills memorable—giving children the confidence to enjoy the internet while knowing how to stay in control.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Online safety: Year 2 unit. It helps build strong foundations for safe and respectful digital behaviour, with music that makes learning stick.
