Step-by-step instructions for making a Kapow Doodler
In this Design and technology video, the pupils are guided through making a Kapow Doodler – a product with an electrical circuit that draws circles and patterns when switched on.
The video shows how to make the body and legs of the Kapow Doodler from a paper cup and four pens taped to the cup. It also shows how to attach the electrical circuit components, including a motor with a weight pushed on the axle in an off-centre manner, making the cup wobble about when the motor is switched on. When the lids are removed from the pens and the circuit connected, the Kapow Doodler wobbles about on a piece of paper and makes doodles.
This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Design and technology videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore and make their own products.
