Stories of special religious figures

This Religion and worldviews video introduces teachers to the key ideas behind the unit “What is religion and how can worldviews be expressed?” equipping them with the knowledge to guide children in exploring how stories and beliefs show that some people are considered special. It covers how children investigate figures such as Jesus, Guru Nanak, Krishna, Daniel and Muhammad across Christian, Sikh, Hindu and Muslim worldviews, using religious stories to explore the concepts of miracles, being chosen and symbolism. The video explains how to support children in making connections with their own experiences and identities, and how to guide respectful, inclusive discussions that address misconceptions—such as the meaning of ‘special’, or how angelic figures like Gabriel and Jibreel appear in different religious narratives.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Religion and worldviews resources – worldviews. It simplifies complex concepts, ensuring teachers feel confident and prepared to help children explore belief, story and spiritual identity through the lens of multiple worldviews in the lesson and unit below.
