Describing clothes in French

This French scheme of work video introduces teachers to the skills needed to help Key stage 2 pupils describe clothing while revising adjective agreement and position. It explores how adjectives change depending on gender and number, which ones come before or after the noun, and how to introduce the phrases il porte and elle porte to describe what someone is wearing. The video demonstrates each step, from using examples with colour adjectives to playing the red herring game to focus on accurate spelling and forms.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Language teacher video resources. It simplifies the process, ensuring teachers feel confident and prepared to support the pupils in combining grammar with practical vocabulary. With activities using familiar video clips, new clothing words and interactive games, the lesson makes learning about clothes engaging and memorable while reinforcing key grammar rules.
