Describing a french town

This French scheme of work video introduces teachers to the skills needed to help Key stage 2 pupils read and analyse a descriptive text about a town before creating their own version. It explores how to support pupils in identifying grammar within the text, using bilingual dictionaries effectively, and adapting vocabulary and sentence structures for their own writing. The video demonstrates each step, from guided reading and text exploration to note-taking and drafting an original description.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Language teacher video resources. It simplifies the process, ensuring teachers feel confident and prepared to support the pupils in developing their writing into a finished product. With opportunities to create leaflets and even share their work with local tourist offices, the lesson makes language learning purposeful, creative and rewarding.
