Creating a digital resource list

This Computing video supports teachers in leading a creative, cross-curricular lesson where children create a digital list of items needed to build their own homemade rockets. Linking to Science (Materials) and Design and Technology, the lesson introduces the idea of using computers to record information accurately and for a clear purpose. Pupils are encouraged to explore different ways of creating digital content—text, images, photos, or audio—highlighting the varied forms that data can take.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Computing scheme of work – videos. It offers guidance on selecting suitable software, supporting differentiation through flexible group work, and integrating digital literacy skills into meaningful contexts. With practical suggestions for both structured and exploratory activities, the lesson builds pupils’ understanding of digital tools while preparing them to test and evaluate their rockets in later sessions.
