Counting and prices in French

This French scheme of work video introduces teachers to the skills needed to help Key stage 2 pupils revise and extend their knowledge of numbers in practical contexts. It explores how to build numbers from one to twenty, then in tens to one hundred and beyond, while linking to the euro currency and real-life shopping situations. The video demonstrates each step, from practising counting patterns and phonics to reading French price formats and completing activities such as matching prices and paired speaking tasks.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Language teacher video resources. It simplifies the process, ensuring teachers feel confident and prepared to support the pupils in applying their maths and language skills together. With opportunities to use role play coins, practise mental arithmetic, and sing a number song that climbs to 100,000, the lesson makes number work engaging and purposeful while preparing pupils for future vocabulary around shopping and money.
