Analysing and presenting fieldwork
In this Geography video, teachers are supported in guiding the children through the final stages of their fieldwork enquiry: analysing their data and presenting their findings to a real or intended audience. Covering the final two lessons of the unit, the video focuses on helping the children make sense of the evidence they have collected.
The children record their analysis using the activity sheet provided, identifying patterns, insights and possible improvements to the area studied. They map their data collection points using a digital tool and compile supporting visuals such as photographs, annotated sketches, survey results and route maps. Teachers are guided in helping the children decide how best to present their findings, through formats such as letters, videos, slideshows or reports.
Part of Kapow Primary’s Geography – Fieldwork videos, this video brings the fieldwork cycle to a meaningful conclusion by supporting authentic pupil voice and critical thinking.
