Writing effective questions for market research

This Design and technology scheme of work video supports teachers in leading market research activities with the class, helping the children gather and analyse data to inform their design work. It explains how market research helps identify user needs, understand preferences and evaluate existing products. The video shows how to write clear research questions that are open-ended, easy to understand and free from bias.

Teachers are guided in supporting classroom discussions about user preferences and helping the children apply their findings to create purposeful, user-focused designs that respond to real needs.
