Exploring sketchpad tools

In this Kapow Computing video, teachers are guided through a lesson using Sketchpad’s free online art tool to help the pupils create artwork linked to a chosen story theme.

The video demonstrates how the pupils can use a variety of brush styles with adjustable thickness and colour options, as well as gradients. Teachers are shown how to introduce the Clip Art library, supporting the pupils to search, resize, rotate and stamp images, and how to duplicate or align elements using the snap and select tools. Guidance is provided to encourage accuracy in mouse control and purposeful use of digital tools.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Computing videos, supporting teachers to develop pupils’ digital literacy, creative confidence and foundational computing skills.
