Planning purposeful enquiry

In this Geography video, teachers are supported in helping the children select meaningful fieldwork enquiry questions. Whether investigating traffic patterns, local green spaces or recycling processes, the children are guided to ask relevant questions, consider multiple perspectives and decide on the evidence they need to collect.

The video walks through planning steps, from identifying potential challenges in the local area to using historical sources and mapping changes over time. Teachers are supported to adapt the activity confidently for group or whole-class work, ensuring the children can engage fully with the enquiry process.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Geography – Fieldwork videos, supporting teachers to help the children investigate their local area with growing independence and confidence.
