Designing Bee-Bot worlds

This Computing video supports teachers in helping the children create and programme their own Bee-Bot maps in a fun and accessible lesson. The children are encouraged to personalise their Bee-Bot worlds, helping them understand that computing allows creativity and personal expression. By recapping prior learning, such as tinkering challenges, the use of commands like ‘Clear’ and the importance of precise, sequential instructions, the children are supported to build confidence in programming their Bee-Bot.

This video is part of the Year 1 Programming 2: Bee-Bot unit and provides practical guidance on modelling commands, simplifying sequences and linking previous lessons to this hands-on activity. It sets the stage for the following session, where the children will begin to code with greater purpose.
