Learning how to remix HTML

This Computing scheme of work video introduces pupils to remixing HTML to create a personalised version of a wanted poster. Using a tool called Trinket, pupils will explore how editing simple lines of code changes what appears on a web page—instantly!

The video walks pupils through how to identify key HTML tags, and shows how to remix them by changing text on the left-hand side of the screen. As they make edits, they’ll see live updates appear on the right-hand side, helping them understand how HTML code controls what we see on a website.

Step by step, pupils are guided to replace headings and paragraphs to create their own content, developing confidence in editing existing code.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Computing resources, used in Year 4 and Year 6 units. It supports pupils in building their digital literacy through hands-on HTML editing, encouraging creativity, experimentation and an understanding of how web content is built.
