Pupil video: Lyrics (chorus)

Pupil video: Four-chord pop Lyrics (chorus)

This Music video supports children in learning and performing the chorus of a pop song through an engaging lyric video. By focusing on a single section of the song, pupils can become familiar with the melody and lyrics while developing confidence in their singing and performance skills.

As the lyrics appear on screen, children sing along with a professional pop band, immersing themselves in the style, energy and sound of pop music. The repeated nature of the chorus allows pupils to focus on key vocal techniques, including clear diction, projection, posture and breath control, helping them to sing with increasing confidence and expression.

The video encourages children to listen carefully to the music and perform together as an ensemble, creating a shared sense of purpose and enjoyment. Through repeated singing, pupils develop their musical memory, sense of timing and awareness of how their voices contribute to a larger group performance.

By concentrating on the chorus, children are able to explore the role this section plays within a pop song, recognising how it often contains the main musical and lyrical ideas. The video provides an accessible way for pupils to rehearse and refine their singing while building the confidence needed for future performances.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Music curriculum support materials, designed to help teachers develop confidence, subject knowledge and practical strategies when delivering the Four-Chord Pop unit.
