A rap about Scratch

This Computing scheme of work video uses a rap to help pupils explore key Scratch concepts in a fun and memorable way.

The song introduces computational thinking, showing how decomposition breaks big problems into smaller steps. Pupils learn about variables, or “gems,” to store scores, record answers and personalise projects. Conditional statements are explained, using “if” and “then” to help programs make decisions. Debugging is also included, showing that fixing mistakes is a normal part of coding.

The rap reinforces key vocabulary and encourages pupils to experiment, create and build confidence while learning to code in Scratch.
