The force of gravity

This Science video introduces Sir Isaac Newton’s scientific discoveries, focusing on the invisible force of gravity.

Beginning with the famous story of Newton observing an apple falling and wondering why objects always fall toward the ground, Year 5 and 6 pupils learn about Newton’s key ideas: that all objects pull on each other, that the strength of this pull increases with mass and that it becomes stronger when objects are closer together. They explore how gravity affects everything from falling apples to jumping, from orbiting planets to ocean tides, making this invisible force essential to life on Earth and beyond.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Science Year 5 and 6 videos, which help teachers and pupils explore scientific concepts through practical investigations and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
