Exploring the United Kingdom

This Geography scheme of work video introduces pupils to the countries and capital cities of the United Kingdom and explores some of the UK’s most famous landmarks and natural features;  it encourages pupils to develop locational knowledge while building curiosity about the wider UK.

Pupils learn that the UK is made up of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Each country is introduced with key facts, capital cities and well-known locations. The video ends by asking pupils to reflect: With so many amazing places to explore, where would you like to visit in the UK? This video is ideal for building a strong geographical foundation and fostering a sense of national identity and curiosity.
