Before starting this unit you might want to check children can recall:
That we live in the continent of Europe.
That the 'UK' stands for United Kingdom and is made up of four countries.
The name of the country they live in.
That the four countries of the UK are England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Human features are the characteristics of a place which are created by humans (e.g. roads, buildings).
Physical features are the characteristics of a place that occur naturally (e.g. lakes, mountains).
