Test your vocal limits

This Kapow pupil video is part of the Kapow Science scheme of work. It is designed for pupils and guides them through an interactive exploration of their vocal range – the lowest to highest notes they can sing comfortably. Pupils are encouraged to sing down a scale to find their lowest note, and then up the scale to discover their highest note.

The video reassures pupils that everyone’s range is different and that it’s okay if their range is small, especially when exploring the lower and higher ends of the scale. Once both notes are identified, pupils have a clear understanding of their own unique vocal range.

The video is designed to be shown to pupils as part of Science, key stage 2, Year 4, Energy: Sound and vibrations, Lesson 5: Pitch
