Using digital Bee-Bots in Computing

This Computing scheme of work video introduces Year 1 pupils to the digital Bee-Bot emulator and the basic programming commands used to control it. It shows how to use the on-screen buttons to move the Bee-Bot forward and backwards, as well as turn, pause, stop and return home. The video also explains how to give clear instructions and how the direction of movement depends on how the Bee-Bot is facing. The pupils are guided to explore different background mats, helping them practise programming in fun and varied contexts.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Computing – Year 1 videos.. It supports pupils in understanding sequencing commands and directional control using digital tools.
