In this Design and technology video, pupils learn how designers develop ideas for new products, draw them or make models and then pass them to people to make using technology.

The video explores the work of designers in different professions, such as those who design clothes, chairs or buildings and the methods they use to make their ideas clear, such as sketches and models. In the video, pupils learn that these ideas can be made into real products by the designers themselves or passed on to others to make, such as architects giving their plans to builders to construct.
