Working together to create a safe and respectful classroom

This RSE & PSHE video introduces the children to creating a PSHE agreement, helping the whole class feel safe, respected and ready to learn. The children learn that a PSHE agreement is a set of shared promises that support everyone in talking about important topics such as feelings, friendships and health.

This video shows the children how to work together to create their agreement by sharing ideas, grouping similar suggestions and turning them into simple promises. The children explore how to show kindness, respect and good listening, and understand that they do not have to share if they do not feel comfortable. They also learn the importance of keeping shared ideas private and respecting differences. The video encourages children to take ownership of their agreement by signing it and using it in lessons, thereby helping them build a positive, supportive learning environment.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS1 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
