Creating space to attack

This Kapow pupil video is part of the Kapow PE scheme of work. It is designed for pupils and focuses on how to break down a defence through teamwork and movement. The video builds on previous learning, reminding pupils to communicate supportively, share possession, and give everyone a role. Pupils are introduced to a three-player attacking strategy: two attackers advance, with one drawing defenders, while a third arrives later into space to receive the pass. This creates opportunities by shifting the defence’s focus. Pupils are encouraged to be creative with their attacking play and to use the full width of the pitch to create space and support their teammates.

The video is designed to be shown to pupils as part of Physical education, key stage 2, KS2, Football, Lesson 5: Strategy
