Could highlight reasons for significance for Christian, Jewish and Muslim people in different colours and not copy these to the Activity: Jerusalem’s significance; could use the Resource: Sentence starters during the Wrapping up.
Pupils working at greater depth
Should make a note of the extract they are referring to (1, 2, etc.) when completing the Activity: Jerusalem’s significance; should identify reasons why places around Jerusalem add to its significance, for example Mount Sinai is where the Ten Commandments were believed to have been given to Moses which were taken to the Temple in Jerusalem; should consider why a non-religious person would think Jerusalem might be a significant place
