Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support:
- Could use the Resource: Connection sentence starters to explain how religions are connected by completing modelled phrases that refer to people, places or beliefs.
- Could focus on just one connection statement to identify similarities between religions by discussing it with a partner before sharing with the group.
- Could be given a clearly linked card (for example, ‘Jesus was Jewish’) to practise making a connection by physically linking two religion cards with a rope or string.
Pupils working at greater depth:
- Should explain how recognising connections between religions could help people from different worldviews understand or respect one another.
- Could suggest additional words or phrases that link religions (for example, shared stories, common origins or similar values);
- Could use books or the link: Britannica Kids Religion to research other connections between religious worldviews.
- Should explain how connections could help people from these religions understand or respect one another.
