Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support:

Could pre-watch or re-watch the Pupil video: Advent; could be assigned the wreath-making element of the Advent wreath activity; could refer to the Presentation: Advent candles to remind them of the different candles used on an Advent wreath.

Pupils working at greater depth:

Could be assigned the candle element of the Advent wreath activity; could write synonyms and connected words on the back of the candles, for example: happiness, smiles and glad on the ‘joy’ candle; could write a caption on a piece of paper for each candle placed on the wreath, providing key information about what the candle represents; should explain the symbolism of the wreath’s shape and evergreen foliage.
