Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could use the Activity: Timed mindfulness colouring: Star-rated  when conducting their research; could use Activity: Design criteria to structure their sentences or they could write directly on the sheet; could be given a duration for the timer instead of deciding on one themselves.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should explain their choice of time limit; could consider these questions when thinking about their design: Does the teacher want the class to see the timer? Or will it be for them to look at while the class does the activity?
