Pupils needing support

Should refer to the Presentation: Beetle for a visual guide to drawing the beetle; could have each instruction read aloud slowly and shown visually on the board while they play so they can match spoken commands to the actions more confidently; could have a recorded version of the instructions to replay when needed.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should explain why the original rules for the game do not work, identifying missing or unclear parts and suggesting precise improvements; could write a new set of instructions for a different simple drawing game (for example: build a monster or draw a robot) and test them with a partner, refining the sequence if their partner cannot follow it correctly.
