Pupils needing extra support:

Should discuss their character and how they would feel at each part of the story with the group or an adult; could be given an instrument appropriate for their character (e.g. drum for the Wolf; wooden guiro or snare drum for the Huntsman); could use the Knowledge organiser to support their use and understanding of musical vocabulary.

Pupils working at greater depth:

Should be challenged to capture greater detail from the story in their music; could, in addition to dynamics and tempo, use a tuned instrument to create a simple theme for their character.
