The Progression of skills and knowledge — condensed document accompanies this long-term plan.
How will this document help me?
At Kapow Primary, we understand that the time dedicated to foundation subjects can sometimes be squeezed. Schools are busy places! This document suggests one unit in each year group that can be omitted from our Art and design scheme, while retaining essential progression of skills and knowledge. It can be useful for schools short on curriculum time or those with only three half terms dedicated to Art and design learning.
This long-term planning document provides all the key information that teachers, subject coordinators, school leaders and dare we say it, Ofsted, need to gain an overview of Kapow’s condensed Art and design curriculum for the whole school. It explains the structure and organisation of the Art and design scheme across the four key areas within each year group (from EYFS Reception through KS1 and LKS2 to UKS2): drawing; painting and mixed media; sculpture and 3D; and craft and design.
