Perfect for schools with limited teaching time, this version of our Progression of skills and knowledge document accompanies our Art and design: Revised scheme long-term plan - condensed version.
Who is this document for?
This document is for those following our Art and design scheme: Long-term plan – condensed. Kapow Primary’s condensed Art and design scheme is great for schools with limited Art and design teaching time, or who only teach Art and design every half term. If you subscribe to Design and technology as well, we also provide an alternating version of our long-term plan: Art and design and D&T: Long-term plan.
If you follow our standard Art and design: Long-term plan, then please see the corresponding Progression of skills and knowledge.

It also breaks down the key skills by each National curriculum aim: Generating ideas; Using sketchbooks; Making skills (including formal elements); Knowledge of artists; Evaluating and analysing, with a separate page showing the progression of knowledge in the Formal elements of Art.
If you follow our Long-term plan — mixed-age then please see the corresponding Progression of skills and knowledge — mixed-age version.
